What does the bride pay for in a Chinese and a Japanese wedding?

Traditionally, does the bride pay for the whole wedding or just part of it. If so, which parts? Is their a difference between Chinese and Japanese weddings concerning who pays?

japanese wedding

depends on couple and depends on area they live

lots of couples pay half each

one of my friend pay less than half because she didnt have much money.

we also have another ceremony called 'yuinou'

each family give present and money each other.

Chinese traditional culture requires the groom's family to pay for the entirety of the wedding. I couldn't say what Japanese culture requires.

The Japanese are very westernized, so I would say no more or no less than any others...

Now, I don't know much about the Chinese, even though I have ancestors from that country.

Well, in a traditional American-Chinese wedding, the grooms

family breaks open the fortune cookies and reads them to

the guests. And the groom's family usually foots the bill

unless everybody bolts to the lounge. In that case, the only

monetary damage the grooms family recieves is for the roast

cats. And vet bills. Also, karaoke must be sung for the torture

of all.

Just the Takeaway's afterwards.
