Do the bride and groom's wedding rings have to be the same weight and thickness?

I think that the wedding rings have to match, plain, same metal, but I don't know if they have to be the same weight and thickness, or if the bride's should be thinner and lighter, what is usually done?

no

the brides ring is suppose to match her ENGAGEMENT RING. usually if she gets one that matches her husband's ring, then it would look silly with her ring. I have never seen any that are a complete match, and rarely do i see couple's that even have the style match. Many women like diamond eternity bands and a lot of guys like a heavier gage metal. Pick what you like, and let him pick what he likes.

If you want them to match, that is your choice. But the rings do not HAVE to be the same weight and thickness.

Nope - you can have whatever you like!

My friend's don't even have the same colour metal! Her's is white gold with diamonds, and his is yellow gold and plain.

They got rings they both liked rather than a matching set - so go for what you like and what suits your engagement ring

They can be anything you want them to be. They can match exactly if you want, they can match in the sense that they're very similar but different widths, or they don't have to match at all. My wedding band is yellow gold with leaves, vines, and flowers carved into it and it's only 3mm thick. My fiance's is titanium ring and looks nothing like mine. Also, it's a whole lot thicker! It's really up to the couple as to how they want to do it. There's no right or wrong way.

nope man and woman are not the same hight or weight the guy the groom can be short tall taller tallist the bride can be small tall or taller or shorter so no man rings are bigger girls rings are small and dont thinks man and woman have the same ring size they dont

No, they aren't since the bride's rings are usually thinner and more delicate, even if they match the groom's.

There are trio sets you can get.

However, these days it's pretty rare for the rings of the bride and groom to match. Many women want to follow the fads/trends - such as having white gold, and the majority of men want classic yellow gold.

Mine and my husband's are yellow gold, but both my e-ring and wedding band have diamonds, and he wanted a plain band.

But if you want matching rings, that's totally cool. Some examples -

Goodness, no! Men have larger fingers than women, so men's rings are almost always thicker and heavier than women's rings. The rings don't even really have to match at all, in general, the couple usually gets the same kind of metal and if there's a design it's similar but not identical.

They can completely match if you want to. Usually the couple will pick a metal (white gold, yellow gold, platinum, etc) and then the bride's ring with be thin for her finger (between 2mm and 4mm) and the groom's ring will be the same, only usually larger (4mm and up).

These days it is common for rings not to match at all! Some brides will choose platinum and the groom will choose tungsten carbide! Some brides want diamonds or gemstones and the groom may choose a plain band with no stones. Now you can even choose to have ceramic rings (white or black are common colors for this). With ceramic you can create your own design to be put on your rings!

My fiance and I have been looking at wedding rings. We are pretty sure now what we are going to get. He is getting a very plain 4mm yellow gold band. I like a 3mm yellow gold band with millgrain down the center and a few tiny diamonds evenly spaced around the ring (technically an eternity band).

The rings are suppose to match as far as style, metal, and color. The thickness does not have to be the same. A lot of women prefer a thinner and lighter band. Also, if you have a solitaire as an engagement ring, you don't want a band that will take away from the diamond. The band should be a compliment to the solitaire.

There is no such requirement that they have to be the same thickness. Typically the groom's ring is thicker since he tends to have bigger hands than the bride. They don't even have to match. Especially if one of them is better suited to yellow gold and the other to platinum due to their skin tones.

no

There are no set rules for wedding rings.

Some couples will choose matching bands.

Some brides have a wedding ring that is part of a set, that goes with their engagement ring.

And there are some that wear a family heirloom.

I would say choose what both of you are comfortable with.

They don't have to match at all. My brother-in-law has a very different ring from his wife. My cousin has just a plain band and his wife has a very fancy band. My husband and I went for plain bands. Same metal and almost the same thickness. Since my band is the same metal as my engagement ring and is just plain it matches my engagement ring. Here is what my wedding band looks like:

Most men have thicker bands than women but it doesn't have to be that way. These days people just pick what they like. Having bands that match doesn't make you any more married than a couple that has bands that don't match.

NO. Just the same metal/color is all that matters. Mens rings are always thicker and sometimes heavier. Weight and thickness doesnt matter.
