"Bride Wars" - The Friendship!

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The movie Bride Wars is a predictable but fun movie about two lifelong friends who get engaged at the same time. As their wedding plans progress, their friendship starts to fall apart. It is a great movie to remind brides about what is really important in life.

In the Bride Wars, we meet two women living in New York who have been friends since they were girls growing up together in New Jersey. Liv, played by Kate Hudson, is a Type A go-getter, with a successful law career. Her best friend Emma (Anne Hathaway) is a mild mannered beauty who teaches middle school. The girls are such close friends that their relationship means at least as much, if not more, than the ones they have with their boyfriends.

The defining moment of Liv and Emma's friendship is when their mothers took them to tea at the Plaza Hotel when they were young girls. They witnessed a wedding taking place, and right then and there they both decided that the only wedding worth having is a June wedding at the Plaza. The radiant bride dropped a piece of her hair bridal jewelry - a blue flower hairpin- and it became a treasured momento for both Emma and Liv.

Fast forward two decades, and both women are living in New York with their serious boyfriends. Their friendship is as strong as ever, and when Liv discovers that she is about to become engaged (she find the little blue box!), Emma could not be more thrilled to be her maid of honor for what they both expect will be the most perfect wedding ever. However, before Liv's boyfriend can actually pop the question, Emma's boyfriend proposes to her. This sets off instant jealousy in Liv, and you can see the beginning of the competitive spark that will nearly destroy their friendship.

Once Liv gets her ring, both ladies trot off to the most fabulous wedding planner in New York, who tells them that there are two dates available for June weddings at the Plaza - perfect! However, trouble ensues when the planner's assistant accidentally books both weddings on the same date. Suddenly the two best friends in the world become bitter rivals, as neither one is willing to change her wedding to another date or venue and abandon the dream of the June wedding at the Plaza.

Much ugliness ensues as the two enraged brides attempt to sabotage each other's big day. The tricks run from a spray tan disaster to blue highlights the week before the wedding. There is also a wild bachelorette party showdown, not to mention a dirty trick to make sure that Liv will gain too much weight to fit into her Vera Wang gown. The two girls are forced to find other people to be their maids of honor, and also manage to frighten their fiances with their catty behavior.

Along the way, each bride learns something important about herself. Liv discovers that she does not have to try to be perfect at all times, and that it is okay to be human. Emma realizes that being a people-pleaser means that she pleases everyone but herself. As she develops a backbone, Emma also comes to realize (spoiler alert!) that her fiance is not the right man for her.

In the end, what both characters come to realize is that they are incomplete without the other. At the end of the movie, Emma presents Liv with the little blue piece of bridal hair jewelry that had started their wedding obsession, and she walks her best friend down the aisle. It is a very sweet moment, and both girls see that life's most special moments are meaningless if they are not shared with the ones that you love.

Sister of the Bride Wedding Speech

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The Sister of the bride wedding speech serves to offer congratulations to the bride. Thus, this speech should be from the heart to accord it the level of emotion and connection it deserves. This makes certain that the invited guest and the gathering as a whole feel the connection to the bride. Since the sister to the bride in a majority of weddings doubles up as the maid of honor, the sister of the bride wedding speech also serves as the maid of honor speech. Hence, it is for these reasons that this speech should portray the gravity of the purposes it serves. Thus, though short wedding speeches are encouraged, combining brevity with totality in the delivery makes certain that the overall purpose of the sister of the bride wedding speech is realized.

Ensuring the sister of the bride wedding speech is heartfelt is important because the deliverer has a personal connection to the bride. Thus, as much as humor is to be used to engage the guests, the speech should be kind and sweet to pronounce the speech as a sister of the bride wedding speech. This speech is used to describe the bride from a sibling's point of view. It is for this reason that the entire deliver should be portrayed in an emotional manner. This helps to show the emotional connection between the deliverer and the bride, thus making certain that the guests are able to connect and relate to the bride. This connection is further emphasized by a brief narration of a childhood occurrence that further depicts the bride in a positive light. The sister of the bride wedding speech should sound personal, hence if it were to be delivered by someone else; it would lose this personal touch. Therefore, delivering a personalized speech that is straight from one's heart gives a sister of the bride wedding speech its character. This coupled with the fact that the content contains details shared by the deliverer of the speech and the bride guarantees its personal nature.

An excerpt from a sister of the bride wedding speech could sound like this:

"...we've shared everything since we were young. Yeah! We have had our share arguments, but I guess that is just sibling rivalry. We might have argued, bickered or even fought as kids, but we always found a way to make up. I think the love we had for each other and the love we still have for each other has taught us a lot on forgiveness and the utter need for each other. Its funny, the older we get the stronger our bond grows, both as friends and as sisters, and I know now that though she is married we will always have that special connection with her. I am so happy to be part of this special day and I know she has found her soul mate..."

Wedding ceremony speeches and in particular the sister of the bride wedding speech is aimed at portraying the bride from a sister's point of view. This gives the invited guests an idea on the brief history of the bride and her overall relation to the people she loves most. Thus, it is important since it vocalizes the emotional and personal ties the bride has maintained with her sister.

How to Pose a Bride and Groom

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Of all the pictures taken at a wedding, the one most important is the portrait of the bride and groom. Some wedding couples depend on a relative or a friend to take a few good photos for their album and others reserve a professional photographer to do the honors. This article is for both the real and wanna-be photographers at the wedding.

A good time to photograph the bride and groom is after the ceremony and before the reception. Ideal is an open lawn away from any building. Other photogenic locations are at the edge of a treed area, under an arcade or
at home in the backyard. Important is to choose an evenly lit background: one that does not contain light and dark areas. Place the couple in the shade at least thirty feet away from any background objects with their faces toward the main source of light.

Turn the bride thirty degrees away from the camera and fluff the train behind her so that only half of the train is visible from the camera position. Never pull the train around to the front of the bride since this is most unnatural and would never occur in real life. Pose the groom slightly facing the bride and have him offer his arm for her to pass her through. Make sure her ring is visible. The groom's outside hand can be in his pocket or touching the bride's hand. The bride should shift most of her weight to the foot furthest from the camera and the groom should have his weight evenly distributed on slightly spread feet. Never let his hand drop straight down at his side. The bride may hold her bouquet in her outside hand at a level below her waist with some daylight or background showing between her elbow and her waist. An alternate place for the bouquet is on the ground next to the groom's feet. Turn their faces toward the camera but not fully straight on, but at a slight angle toward each other. Their expressions should show their happiness, but not laughing.

Angles other than the view straight on without changing their positions often present another good composition for a portrait. Consider also a view from behind the couple, requesting them to turn their heads directly toward each other, giving the photographer a profile of their faces. A variety of shots are possible with this pose. A medium shot (at the knees) with their faces closer together and an even closer pose with the cheeks almost touching make wonderful portraits. Try having them look into each other's eyes with his arms around her. Natural light from the side is the most beautiful source as long as the reflector of some sort balances the light. Watch your cropping in the viewfinder carefully and leave some space over their heads. Pay attention to the position of the feet (no soles showing) and be sure only the sides of the bride's hands are presented to the camera. The groom's coat collar should fit snug to the neck.

A beautiful portrait of the bride and groom can be their most treasured reminder of the most important day in their lives. You can make it happen.

Top Online Internet Marketing Techniques - The Top Three

Image : http://www.flickr.com

If you are able to learn and master the top online internet marketing techniques, you will build a business that will provide you and your family success and financial freedom for years to come. Even though it does take some trial and error to learn these strategies, they are relatively simple once you go through the learning curve. The key is to be consistent. Pick two or three marketing techniques and focus on them only. Set goals and duplicate your efforts on a daily basis. Consistency will create the rewards you are working towards.

For the purpose of this article, I want to focus on 3 of the top online internet marketing techniques.

Article Marketing:

Article marketing is a great way to promote your business. Write a short article that pertains to your business and publish it on a syndicated article website. Remember to write good quality articles. You will have a difficult time appearing to be a subject matter expert in the minds of others if you have a ton of grammar or spelling mistakes. Also, ensure that you are including keyword research into your efforts. If you do not use good keyword research, then you will not be able to consistently have your articles ranked in the search engines. If your article can't be found, then your article will not reach the eyes of your readers. If your article is not getting viewed, then your article is pointless. Research your keywords and publish your article accordingly.

Video Marketing:

When an individual goes to the internet, and types a problem statement into the Google search bar, a list of results will appear. If the user is scanning down the page, and sees a thumbnail to a video, they will most likely click on that video first above anything else. It is human nature. We, as human beings desire to be entertained, and would rather watch something than to read something. Posting a video to the web that pertains to your business can prove to be very beneficial. Again, keyword research still applies. If you are unable to get your video to rank in the search engines, your video will not be seen. You have wasted your efforts if your video does not reach your targeted audience.

Social Media:

Social Media consists of websites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. You already use these sites for your personal use, why not use them to promote your business? You do have to be careful though. You have to walk a fine line of using these sites for both business and personal use. You do not want to come across as a spammer. If you are blatantly advertising your business on a daily basis, you will push people away. Do not try to hard sell people who are on your friend lists. You only want to create curiosity.

Target Stores Online Application

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Are you looking for information about filling out a Target stores online application? Before you pursue this further, I want to help you and give you some history and background on Target. This way, you can have all the information you will need to make an educated and informed decision about pursuing a career with Target. I will also give you an alternative. But first things first.

The Company:

Target was founded by a man named George Draper Dayton in 1902. He purchased land on Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis, and founded the very first location called Dry Goods Company, today known as Target Corporation. The company was founded on his firm beliefs of having dependable merchandise, fair business practices, and a generous spirit of giving. He was president of his company until he passed away in 1938. His son and grandsons followed in his footsteps and began to grow the company into a nationwide retailer. As you can imagine, they were very successful, and today Target is one of the nations largest retailers, exceeding $50 billion in annual sales in 2005.

Their Mission:

Target has branded themselves with the term, "Expect More, Pay Less." They do this by offering more designs, choices of products, and designer-created items that you can not find anywhere else. All of this of course is offered at a lower price. They pride themselves in community efforts, giving back 5% of their income to the communities they are in to support education, arts, social services, and volunteerism. They began this practice way back in 1946 and as of 2007, they are giving $3 million per week to local communities. Diversity at Target is a core value of the company and is a part of every business decision they make. Environmental focus is another daily practice with which they strive to always improve their business activities in using resources responsibly, eliminate waste, and minimize their carbon footprint.

Employment Opportunity:

Target does offer some good reasons why you should consider filling out a Target stores online application. They offer career opportunities to both the seasoned professional or someone who is just getting started. They offer a wide array of benefits including health coverage, insurance products, and retirement saving options to name a few.

Now, here are some negative items to consider when thinking about filling out that Target stores online application. While Target may be a great place to work, working for a retail company can be extremely frustrating in many ways. You have long hours, and you may not have the same schedule from day to day. Constant interaction with customers, although rewarding, can prove to be difficult at times. You may feel that your compensation for your daily efforts may not be sufficient. It could prove to be very difficult to earn that promotion you are striving to achieve. This is due to the high competition of all the other employees. Relationships with your co-workers can also prove to be difficult. Retail in general is just simply a very tough industry.

Now the Alternative:

I would like to give you another career option. One that will give you the opportunity to achieve the income and freedom that you deserve in a career. Have you ever dreamed of working for your self, where you can be the boss? Why not consider a home based business using the power of the internet? This is a valid option for you today if you are a motivated individual. I don't have to tell you that the internet today is vast and continues to grow at enormous numbers every single day. Why not tap into a resource that can bring people to you for your product or service in the comfort of your own home, only using a laptop and a internet connection. Does this possibility interest you? I can show you how!

So, carefully look at your options. Do you really want to fill out that Target stores online application or begin a career that is truly yours and can give you everything that you need and desire to achieve your goals in this lifetime. An opportunity that can establish a legacy for you and your family.

Samoan Wedding Dresses, Gowns, Online Bridal Store

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Samoan brides, in the Polynesian regions, who are about to get married take their time when selecting a wedding dress in order to select one that fits them well and complements their figures. A bride needs to select a wedding dress three to five months in advance to avoid getting disappointed. A person should consider a number of factors when purchasing Samoan wedding dresses such as the prices, a person's body type and type of wedding.

How Samoans prepare fabrics for wedding gowns:

Brides from Samoa make their traditional wedding gowns using tapa cloth, which they obtain from the barks of mulberries. Some Samoan brides may make their wedding gowns out of 'siapo', which is a cloth they make out of hardwood barks; this fabric is important especially during wedding ceremonies where the culture demands that the bride should put on a wedding dress made of this fabric.

When presenting gifts to a married couple, village maidens and high chiefs also wear the 'siapo' cloth. Samoans also dress on cloths made out of siapos and tapas during other festivals such as teuila. Siapo makers cut and soak the bark of hardwood trees in water until they become pulpy; afterwards they lay it on the ground and scrape out the water by use of different shells.

Afterwards they leave the material to dry in the sun for a couple of hours before applying red clay on it and rubbing it by use of wet pads. This makes the fabric soft enough for them to stitch thus enabling them to design a wedding dress out of it. There are also modern wedding gowns made out of silk fabrics but have Samoan designs and patterns.

How to obtain a Samoan wedding dress online:

A person can rent or purchase a modern Samoan wedding gown via the internet by Blogging onto websites that sell them to get recommendations on where to obtain fair-prices Samoan wedding dresses.

After getting lists of websites, a person should visit each one of them in order to identify the online stores that have the best offers. Online stores in teuila that sell or rent out Samoan wedding gowns normally have visual images of the dresses that are available. It is necessary that a person should have a valid credit card in order to allow the transactions to take place effectively.

Many online stores offer extra services such as transporting the wedding dresses to their customers while some offer discounts to customers who purchase a certain number of items from their stores.

Selecting a Samoan wedding gown color and pattern:

Samoan wedding dresses normally have patterns on them, which make the dresses more beautiful. A person has the option of selecting black, brown, cream or white background colors for their wedding dresses. Traditional Samoan wedding gowns are colorful because they use barks to make them; a person can select a white wedding dress that has light brown patterns on them thus making the attire unique and attractive. Professional siapo makers in Polynesia decorate the wedding gowns a day or two before the wedding ceremony.

Online Single Dating - The Secrets Of Overseas Brides

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Online Single Dating sites are the easiest way for men to communicate with prospective Russian brides. If you have already delved into the world of online dating, you have probably at least heard about Russian Brides. At first glance, it might seem very strange that so many men are prepared to spend thousands, to bring a foreign wife to their country and struggle with all the differences of language and culture. If you are looking for a Russian lady it is very important to collect as much information as possible about her and her culture. This is essential if you are to have a serious relationship with a Russian woman and you both have decided to stay with each other with the intention to marry? The better dating sites organize everything that you need passports ,visa, translators and much more. So you can rest assured that if you go down this process there is help at every stage of the way.

Believe it or not, the majority of women we referred to as "Russian Brides" are genuine, real, warm-blooded human beings. Looking for a better lifestyle that is available through the internet. With 10 million more women to men in former Soviet Union it's also a question of where can I find a partner. With most Russian women their expectations of their partners age is a lot higher than that of the west. It's not unusual to find a twenty year old woman looking for a male partner 40 -50 years of age. That is just the way of life in Russia and is not to be viewed as desperation on the part of the woman.

You may have seen the newspapers, various scams operated by Russian women. When American men lost their hearts and a lot of money when chasing their dream. Don not be put off and focus on the negative put it in perspective. The truth is that there are hundreds of successful marriages every year compared to the disappointments.

Realize what you may be worth to a woman who appreciates your kindness, intelligence, and warmth. The key to a successful online romance is to have patience and you will find the perfect match.

Most Online Single Dating sites have started offering a free registration on their Web sites so it is easy to get started. View the sites and take the leap. Happiness could be just around the corner!

The internet is an ideal medium to get to know people living in a remote world.

Bride on a Budget - 7 Tips For Planning a Wallet-Friendly Wedding

Image : http://www.flickr.com

When I got married in 2004, I had just graduated from college and had no job, my parents were in the middle of a divorce, and my then-fiance and I had no savings to speak of. But by planning smart, we still managed to have the wedding of our dreams. Here are some tips to help you do the same.

  1. Ditch the DJ. Instead of hiring someone to spin for us all night, we created a playlist on our iPod and hooked it up to the reception hall's speaker system. Cost to us? Nada. And the added bonus is that we didn't have to suffer through the Macarena, the Electric Slide, or the Chicken Dance.

  2. Quash the string quartet. I walked down the aisle to a beautiful arrangement of Pachbel's Canon in D Minor on a free CD I got with a purchase of $10 or more at some boutique in town. I labeled the disk with track number and passed it off to the sound guy at the inn where we held the ceremony (which, I might add, cost less than $500), and it was just right.

  3. Downsize the dress. You're going to be wearing it for, what, 6 hours max? Don't spend thousands of dollars on a dress you're only going to wear once. David's Bridal has $99 wedding gown sales constantly, and you can find awesome bargains at regular dress shops, too. My dress was a prom-season find that cost me $130 and was miles better than any "real wedding gown" I tried on - and I tried on a lot of dresses.

  4. Minimize the menu. Do you really need crab balls and lobster bisque and filet mignon to be able to enjoy your wedding dinner? We negotiated a five-course plated dinner (including filet mignon, some fancy fish I'd never heard of but loved, rabbit, and a cheese course) with open wine and beer all night and an hour of passed hors d'oeuvres for less than $50 per person at the very nicest restaurant in town, and it was amazing.

  5. Get frugal with your flowers. My bouquet had more than three dozen roses in it, we passed out long-stemmed roses to all of the moms and grandmas (of which there were many - our extended family gets remarried a lot), and packed the rehearsal dinner and reception hall with blooms - and it cost less than $75. The secret? My best friend and I hit up BJs and Costco, two local discount wholesale stores, and cleaned them out, and then put everything together ourselves in about two wine-saturated hours using a few straight pins, a couple of spools of ribbon, and a picture torn out of Martha Stewart Living. The petals that fell off went in a ribbon-festooned basket for my flower girl, who wore a borrowed dress and her new school shoes for the ceremony.

  6. Guard the guest list. Do you seriously need to invite your entire family? If you wouldn't recognize them on the street, they shouldn't be at your wedding. It's your day, and you should be surrounded by the people closest to you in the world - and that doesn't always mean blood relatives. You may need to make some compromises here and there, but don't sacrifice the presence of someone you truly want there because your mom doesn't want to offend Uncle Bob. That's her problem, not yours.

  7. Be prudent about pictures. Rather than spend thousands of dollars on a so-called professional photographer, we hired an art student from the local college and got literally the best wedding photos I have ever seen for $350 and the cost of one dinner, film, and developing. Ask to see a portfolio and make sure the personalities are right, but don't assume that you have to shell out the big bucks for pride-worthy pictures.

There are dozens if not hundreds of creative ways to save money on your wedding ceremony, and these ideas will get you started on the road to planning a wedding that's both beautiful and affordable.
