The bachelorette party is essentially an opportunity to even things out. If the groom gets one last party with the guys then naturally the bride should have one final soiree with the gals. Before you get your bridesmaids together for a night on the town here are a few pieces of advice you may just find useful.
It is advisable that you sit down with your hostess, often the maid of honor to discuss your boundaries. If there is something that you definitely do not want to take part in then now is the time to speak up. Even though the hostess will be putting in quite a bit of effort throwing the party for you, do not worry about offending her. She will more than likely be glad for your input.
While your fiancé may be pretty laid back as he is no doubt throwing a party of his own, it is usually a good idea for the hostess to talk to him about her plans for the event. This will help ease any worries he may have. You may also find that he wants to add his own ideas into the mix.
As a rule of thumb you will probably not want to have anyone at the party who does not like your fiancé. While it is a time for you and the gals, it is also important to remember that it is a pre-wedding party, one of the aspects of being engaged. Someone who has a major problem with your chosen guy may not appreciate this and sour the atmosphere. You may find that all your friends get along perfectly with your future husband so this point may not apply to you.
It is also a good idea for both the bachelor and bachelorette parties to be held at the same time, at different venues of course. This can help to reduce any jealous that could lead to problems, as no one is left home without anything to do, worrying about what the other person is getting up to.
