Mother of the Bride Dress Colors For Fall 2008

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Every new season brings in different styles and in exciting colors to the mother of the bride dresses. This fall and winter season, the special occasion dress manufacturers will be introducing their fall/winter lines from July to October. Fall is not traditionally the bridal season but there are still quite a few weddings to be held between late August all the way through December.

It is actually a trying time for mothers of the bride and groom alike as spring mother of the bride gowns are in abundance in the stores but quite a few manufacturers do introduce their social occasion dresses for the spring and then again for the fall.

Mother of the bride and groom gowns for fall/winter 2008 will feature rich fabrics with new fangled names like hi-twist crepe, vintage chiffon, shantung, fortuni slinky, and hammered shimmer. All of these are polyester blends with somewhat high resistance to wrinkles and crinkles. They surely feel good to the touch and make the mother of the bride and groom look absolutely awesome wearing them despite a moderate price.

This fall season, evening wear manufacturers are introducing fabulous and popular colors of dark chocolate, plum, sapphire, jade, mocha, and midnight blue. The usual basic colors of champagne, navy, pink, silver, purple, are always popular. Although the dark pinks or fuchsia, of course, make way for the lighter tones for fall. Black is now increasingly popular and no longer "taboo" or bad luck for weddings. It is the color of sophistication and wealth (dare I say good taste as well?) and is the main color of many "black and white" weddings. As with these specialty weddings, the color ivory (like black), is also no longer shunned by even the mother of the bride. It is definitely a free-for-all these modern times, if everyone is happy, including the bride.

Being in the wedding business and specializing on mother of the bride or mother of the groom dresses, I have seen so many styles offered from season to season, year to year. No longer is the mother of the bride or groom satisfied with a boxy, frumpy style and with a matching jacket. This part of the 21st century, the styles have gone increasingly youthful, design and detail conscious and yes, budget conscious as well as the dollar does not stretch that far any longer.

Popular designers for moderately priced mother of the bride and groom apparel are Karen Miller, Cachet, Ursula, Scala, Alex Evenings, Misty Lane, and DJ Collection. Their styles are well-made, affordable and most of all youthful looking. No more dowdy, unattractive mother of the bride outfits for you. All of these are sold online at AudreysMotheroftheBride.com. Our specialty are hard-to-find plus size and full figure dresses. Online bridal stores like ours only offer the current season's styles in with varying designs and with affordable prices. You can shop comfortably from your home without walking the mall and fighting traffic. This leads to a less stressed mom of bride.

Mother of the Bride Dress Colors for Spring 2008

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The special occasion dress manufacturers will be introducing their spring/summer lines from January through April. The spring and summer season are when mothers of the bride and groom begin to look for a special gown to wear to their daughter or son's wedding. They are in a "panic" mode as in the hustle and bustle of the wedding preparation, they tend to overlook searching for their own formal gowns.

Mother of the bride gowns this spring 2008 will still feature rich fabrics with names like shantique, hammered shimmer, brocade, hi twist crepe, satin, etc. Lace is still available but mostly as accents or forming one part of the gown for interest. Beads, rhinestones, and embroidery are always a must for formal gowns as these add the sparkle and uniqueness to the outfit, separating a regular dress from a special occasion one. These fabrics are made of polyester blends which will retain its shape and are generally wrinkle-free. Mothers of the bride and groom surely do not want their dresses to pull and crinkle while performing their individual duties.

For spring of 2008, the mother of the bride and gown manufacturers are introducing interesting colors like glacier, aqua, sea breeze, and cinnamon. Sage and dust rose are always popular from one year to the next and these are the staple colors for this spring as well. Tried and true colors of champagne, burgundy, silver, gold, navy, and black, are still very much in style as these are the basic colors that will look good not only for the wedding but can be worn to any other social occasion.

Mother of the bride dresses are very competitively priced with the traditional bridal stores and many gowns are priced for very much less. Additionally for online bridal stores, you can shop for the color that you wish to wear by typing in the color or its variation, in the "search box" of the website. Every good website should have this feature which shows a blank box for you to type in the keyword you desire. Online stores usually carry the current season's styles as they have the real-time capability to post the latest mother of the bride dress styles and delete the ones that are no longer in stock or sold out.

This spring 2008, mother of the bride and groom dresses are offered in "youthful" styles. Long gone is the dowdy looking mother of the bride. Check out the 2008 styles by Karen Miller, Scala, Cachet, and Ursula as they pave the way for trendier and upbeat styles.

Audrey's Mother of the Bride (website: http://www.audreysmotherofthebride.com) offer these styles in affordable prices and with wide size selections. They cater especially to the plus size or full figure mother of the bride and groom. Petite sizes are also available.

New fabrics, styles and colors for Fall 2007 Mother of the Bride dresses are making bridal formalwear selection much easier. A change of season brings new fabrics and styles to the Mother of the Bride or Groom dress market. All with wonderful color names such as Chestnut, Lapis, Merlot, Raisin, Cognac, Expresso, Wine, Sapphire, Dark Chocolate, Cabernet and Amethyst just to name a few. And, there is such an array of styles to choose from - Satin suit jackets atop a skirt of brocade, chiffon tired dresses with long sleeve jackets, embroidered ¾ length sleeve tops over crepe skirts and so many others from which to choose. Both short and long lengths are in style for this wonderful season. Formal pantsuits are offered in the same fabrics and colors as the dresses.

As mother of the bride or groom it sometimes is very difficult to find just the right dress to compliment the wedding party. I have found that with the additional fabric, style and color selections being offered at this time this task just got easier. There are so many styles that are very fashionable yet comfortable that anyone can find an appropriate dress they will enjoy. I was thrilled to see attractive styles in varied lengths - short, tea and long. And, don't forget to look for the new formal pantsuits.

Another feature that has made this task easier is the online bridal boutiques. You can shop in the comfort of your home to find the same elegant mother of the bride dresses and suits as you would find in your local wedding shops.
