Mother of the Bride Gifts

The mother of the bride is a very special part of a wedding. After all, she is the woman who raised a little girl and helped her to become a grown woman on the brink of starting a new life with her husband. The bride's mother is usually the one person who will be there throughout the whole wedding planning process, helping with decisions, suggestions, and chances are, with money. Thank your mom for all that she has done with a very special mother of the bride gift.

It is a very thoughtful gesture for the bride and groom to arrange for a bottle of fine Champagne to be chilling in the hotel rooms of their parents when they check in. That is a festive way to kick off the wedding weekend, and no doubt will be appreciated by both sets of parents. As wonderful as Champagne is though, you will probably still want to pick another, more personal gift for the mother of the bride.

One of the most personal gifts is jewelry. It would be very sweet of the bride to give her mother beautiful wedding jewelry as a thank you. The bride's mother will be delighted to receive a lovely new necklace or pair of earrings to wear as wedding jewelry. Pearls are always a timeless choice. For a fantastic twist on an old favorite, give your mom a stunning strand of black or multi colored pearls. If you think that your mother's outfit could use a little more pizazz, then give her the gift of handcrafted Swarovksi crystal jewelry.

Monogrammed items also make a great gift for moms. A handsome piece of luggage with her initials could be a good choice. Also consider sterling silver items, such as picture frames, that can be personalized. A frame is a great idea if you fill it with a great picture of the two of you together.

Mothers often cherish time spent with their daughters more than anything else in the world. Take a break from your hectic wedding planning to devote an afternoon or an evening to your mother. The bride could take her mom to a spa for some pre-wedding pampering, like a pedicure or a hot stone massage. Another nice idea would be to go to tea together in a fancy restaurant, or to take your mother someplace elegant for dinner, just the two of you.

A mother-daughter activity is the perfect time to give your mother of the bride gift. Be sure to include a sappy note about how much her love and support has meant to you over the years. If appropriate, the bride could also mention what wonderful role models her parents have been for how to have a good marriage. A sentimental note will mean a lot to your mother.

Being the mother of the bride is a special time. It is not always easy, as emotions can run high and money can run tight, but it is a time in the mother-daughter relationship unlike any other. Planning a wedding together can bring the pair closer together (assuming they are still speaking by the end!). Plan on showing your mother how much you appreciate her with a very special mother of the bride gift.
