Father of the Bride Speech

Delivering a speech on various occasions has to follow a particular set of protocols respecting the functions etiquette. Especially in a wedding, the speech is delivered more or less with a specific format. In a wedding reception function it is very common for the father of the bride, father of the groom, the best man and the bride and groom themselves to say a speech in which they normally share their feelings and experiences with the present members of the family, relatives and friends.

The father of the bride speech usually commences with saying a few words to welcome everyone present in the function and appreciating the fact that they spent their precious time and energy to join the auspicious function and helped it in being a great success. So on behalf of you (father) and the family thank everyone for being present in the function and for participating in the celebration. It is also a part of good speech etiquette on the bride's father's side to thank the caterers, clergy members and photographers for their involvement in the function that made it even better and a memorable one.

The fathers should buy enough time to look at her daughter as a bride and appreciate and compliment her on the fact that she is looking extraordinarily beautiful (even though if it is an exaggeration). The father should apprise his guests about how proud he is of his daughter and summarize her life by mentioning her achievements and talents. You might also reminisce a sweet incident involving you and your daughter from the past, may be from her childhood days.

After talking about your daughter you can welcome the groom as the new member of the family and talk about his talents and congratulate him on his achievements. The father of the bride speech also demands some tips and important advices from your experience for the newly married couple which they might appreciate. It is recommended that the father of the bride delivers his speech in an interesting way, at times by being non-insolently sarcastic or by being cheerful and teasing at the same time which makes the speech capable of grabbing attention and avoid boredom.

In the end, the father of the bride speech must put forward a proposal to raise a toast to the newly wedded couple telling them how happy you are for them and also wish them a very delightful and happy married life for the rest of their lives.
