For the Non-Traditional Bride - Putting the Funky in Your Wedding Invitations

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Let's ask a few questions to see if funky wedding invitations are the right kind for you.

  1. Would you use words like outgoing, exuberant, thrilling or extraordinary to describe yourself?

  2. How would you describe your fiancée?

  3. If you both see yourselves as extraordinary people, then why would you choose traditional for your wedding?

You've answered all 3 questions and you're thinking, hmmm, traditional might not be for you. Now let's look at one alternative - funky wedding invitations. "Maybe 'funky' is a little extreme," you say. Maybe it is, but why not explore all your options? You never know, you may be pleasantly surprised. First of all, what exactly are funky wedding invitations? In your searches you will find contempo-funky invitations featuring things like:

  • bright colors and huge graphics

  • bold patterns like stripes or polka dots

  • unusual textures like dried banana leaves, engraved wood or fabric instead of paper

  • unusual color combinations like fuchsia with forest green and teal blue

  • unusual construction using elements like rivets or frame corners (elements I use in my THM Signature collection)

You'll also find extreme-funky invitations featuring:

  • gothic motifs like skeletons and grave stones

  • themed invitations like wild west and pirate ships

  • invitations including taffeta, velvet, glitter, fluff and every other add on you can think of

Next, where do you find these wonderful and exotic things? As usual, the web will give you the widest selection of what you'll be looking for. Of course I'll want you to start at my site where the selection is not-so-extreme, but at the end of the day, you can go as toned-down or as wild as you want as your spirit tells you to be. Get started on your search engine of choice looking at all the options for the new age, diva-licious, statement-making, stand-out kind of bride that you are. If you find images you like but nothing exactly like you want, I'd encourage you to work with an invitation designer, especially if your budget isn't too tight or if you can stretch it because your wedding is small enough. Consider funky wedding invitations for your modern couple's nuptials. Let your voice be heard and let your colors be seen!

Bridal Shower Invitations - Let's Shower the Bride With Love

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The bridal shower is a time of fun, fellowship, and friends forever. In a bridal shower, the bride's closest friends and allies assemble together at the bride's house for a party to celebrate the bride. The friends, relatives, and colleagues 'shower' the bride with gifts. Originally, bridal showers were intended to replace the gifts lost through a dowry that didn't go through because the father of the bride didn't approve of the marriage. Because of this, bridal showers are a recent phenomenon. They're endemic to America and Canada especially so you'll be sure to find the best bridal shower invitations from Internet vendors in one of those two countries.

Bridal shower invitations are fun to send out because you're 100% certain that you will receive some great gifts in return from all your friends. Friends are likely to bring gifts that will help you establish your new home. In the past, bridal showers were also intended to establish the woman's role as homemaker and traditional housewife. This has gradually been replaced with a pure gift-giving session; sometimes, the husband is even involved in this celebration that was originally reserved just for females.

Usually, the maid of honor plans the bridal shower and sends out the invitation so she should keep some basic tenets in mind. First, the bride-to-be is a princess for a day. Second, send out invitations 2 weeks ahead of time to give everyone time to prepare. Third, don't invite guests to the shower if they're not invited to the wedding, for obvious reasons. Fourth, plan to have the shower in the afternoon. Fifth, use board games and other games to help the guests get to know each other. Sixth, don't pressure the guests into giving expensive gifts if they can't afford them. Cheap gifts can be just as good and functional. Include a list of inexpensive items on the registry for cash-strapped bridal shower guests. Seventh, choose a few good movies that all the girls will love to watch. These are especially fun at the end of the night after a few bottles of wine or champagne.

The bridal shower invitations shouldn't be too fancy or else the guests will think they have to dress up and bring expensive gifts and such. Make sure that the invitations are fun, yet classy. Don't use overpriced cards because it will send the wrong impression right off the bat. Make the bride's bridal shower a time of shared memories and future hopes. Don't let anything blur that beautiful dream.

Free Printable Wedding Invitations - Freebies That Enthrall

Image : http://www.flickr.com

When it comes to the final act of announced wedding, there is no way back. There are things to do, people to call. And bear in mind, people tend to get offended if you invite them over by phone. It is a tradition, after all. It means you need a bunch of wedding invitations, depending on how long is your wedding list. A third cousin from the bride's mother side will be tremendously offended if you skip them from your invitation list.

The fact remains: no one actually wants to turn out cheap on the wedding day. You need quite a chunk of your wedding money to spend on those one-time pieces of paper.
Professionals will squeeze you in seconds. Do not do that. Save it for a rainy day and find a way how to get free and printable wedding invitations.

First of all, there is a bunch of Internet sites, which offer a variety of those for reasonable price. They come in different designs, so called 'templates', colors and instructions how to print. You can order them already printed with the desired names, though there will always be a note of threat that a name or two might turn out misspelled.

Rather download a blank template from one of a numerous Internet sites and decide what you will do. Internet turns out to be a great companion and both money and life saver when it comes to wedding invitations. It leaves you choices, which is of great importance.

Not every person in the world is skilled to use graphic based programs for drawing and decorating downloaded blank invitations.

If you are skilled in basic software for creating and designing, do not worry. Mind you, if you should use the simplest of software, beware. Practically everyone nowadays knows the difference between an original and a downloaded card. Use proper printer and colors or hire a professional to provide you original fonts, elegant decorations along the rims and probably additional photos of you two.

The less - the better: this should be the motto if you have decided to use free printable wedding invitations. If you get too creative, it might end up as a mish-mash of kitsch. You do not want that. Go for simplicity and elegance rather than for over-kill.

This is why it is clever to download completely blank free wedding invitations, with only the format adjusted to the envelopes you will use; there is actually very little you can change once you have downloaded card with a template. Your free wedding invitation will remain free, but yet, it will have the original touch you will provide. You may have a nice handwriting - time consuming, but worthwhile. In addition to names, make your free printable wedding invitations more personal: add a spot of favorite scent or have them professionally wrapped into luxury but elegant envelopes.

Motorcycle Pictures Wedding Invitations For The Bold Bride And Groom

Image : http://www.flickr.com

So, you're tired of the same old sayings, invitations and photos? You along with many other wedding couples want their wedding to stand apart from all others. They do not want to have the same old boring invitations, but rather something that signifies their personality. Many that have a love for motorcycles are turning to the motorcycle pictures wedding invitations.

It is clear to family and friends of those that have a love for the motorcycles. There are three different kinds of riders and all three of those classes have a different theory on their wedding as well. The three classes are the need for speed, bad boys/girls, nostalgia. Each and every class has a love for a similar hobby, but their perception is not the same. Therefore, their wedding and wedding invitation should match their perception and styles. Here we will look at the three type's motorcycle riders and motorcycle pictures wedding invitations.

The need for speed, for many these is the true reason of the motorcycle. The crotch rockets are the true loves of their lives. The motorcycle is a symbol of a virile and manly man! That is the reason that there are those motorcycle pictures wedding invitations that cater to this need for speed. The colors are bold, the pictures bright and that wind blown look. These invitations are anything but traditional. Though the appearance is different they can still have the traditional writings or sayings. Or if you want to go all out with the unique concept you can have the printer incorporate your wording, poem or other saying into the invitation.

Ahh, the bad boys and girls, those images that most have when they think of the motorcycle club riding through their town. The leather, long hair and windblown look, and of course the motorcycles parked together, that you do not want to get to close to. That old movie scene comes rushing back. For the bride and groom that want to carry that "bad boy" theme there are plenty of designs to choose from. The bad boy motorcycle pictures wedding invitations are very popular. The rugged look and non-frilly wedding invitations have taken the world by storm. The guests that receive these in the mail will have the cant wait attitude for the actual upcoming wedding. Everyone likes a place to ride their motorcycle too!

Lastly, the nostalgic motorcyclist. They love the outdoors and history of the bikes. You can find these riders on a road trip with the two loves of their lives on the weekends. These motorcycle lovers love the history, photos of the older model bikes and the simple idea of motorcycle riding. There are motorcycle pictures wedding invitations to match this group as well. Many of the motorcycle wedding invitations will have a vintage bike on the front or other historical display. There are an abundance of items that can make this wedding invitation perfect!

No matter what type of motorcycle rider you are there is a motorcycle pictures wedding invitation that will enhance your special day. Motorcycles have played a vital role in your life and now you should incorporate them into that special union. Make that day very special and bring your second love with you. But, remember the wedding invitation starts the wedding so make sure to incorporate your motorcycle into the wedding invitation.

Humorous Wedding Invitations - You May Now Laugh At The Bride And Groom

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Humorous wedding invitations relax even the most uptight person that can't stand the thought of putting on a suit and tie and stepping into a formal ceremony. Almost instantly, upon receiving your invitation, the recipient will appreciate your tongue-in-check approach to the big day. Humorous wedding invitations are a popular way to lighten up the sometimes stressful and serious moods associated with weddings and getting married. They are perfect for casual, somewhat informal, wedding ceremonies. People will appreciate knowing that the two of you are approaching this important day of eternal commitment with fun on the mind. Humorous wedding invitations come in a variety of forms. You can insert funny text or funny caricature artwork. Anything from funny illustrations of the groom carrying his bride, the bride pulling her panicked hesitant groom to the chapel, the newlyweds riding off on a motorcycle to the skiing bride and groom. Much to the horror of the red states, in an effort to be politically correct and also target a niche, there are groom & groom or bride & bride selections.

Humorous wedding invitations are often keepsakes for your wedding guests. Perhaps they will look back at your invitation to reminiscence about the night or just get some chuckles from the invitation itself. When wording your invitation it's important to not overlook important event details. People want to know the full names of the bride and grooms. Nobody likes to make out a wedding card only to discover that they wrote the names incorrectly. Regardless of the humorous tone to your invitation people still need to know the date, the time and location of the ceremony and reception. So, it's alright to be funny with humorous wedding invitations but don't forget that wedding invitations need to serve their function as well.

Discount Wedding Invitations provide humorous wedding invitations online where you can include your own wording so the invitation reflects your personal style. You are given significant input into the design of your invitation. It's just a matter of completing your order form and expressing exactly what you want from your wedding invitations. The site has a team of designers who communicate with you through the completion of your order. You are emailed proofs within 2-3 business days. You can either approve or decline these proofs and there is no limit to the number of adjustments you may request. The invitations must meet your exact criteria before they are shipped to you.

Wedding Invitations On A Budget

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Modern day weddings can be anything from very simple to extravagant. However expensive or not, weddings always include invitations which are considered as a primary necessity in wedding arrangements. Especially now, many brides believe that the invitation sets the attitude for the wedding but, very often make the mistake of spending unnecessarily on wedding invitations just to ensure the guests will be impressed.

Wedding invitations can range anywhere from being very simple and cheap to high brow and costly. However, there are many varieties of wedding invitations available. For example, people who are not setting up a highly structured wedding may prefer to search for cheap invitations which, of course appear simple, sober and at the same time do not cost much. Some brides who are planning for an extravagant wedding may go for elegantly designed and attractive invitations that cost more. For most brides, selecting an inexpensive wedding invitation is normally advisable because unnecessary money spent on invitations can be utilized in other more productive ways. Adding some additional features to the wedding reception usually is money well spent for planning with a budget.

Here are some beautiful and simple tips to personalize wedding invitations on a budget. One of the most apparent tips for getting inexpensive wedding invitations that many people fail to notice, is creating the invitations on a home computer with a personalized message. This is surely a brilliant idea because creating the cards gives both the couple, and their parents, the ability to make sure that the invitations appear exactly as they desire. This saves a great deal of money and time as well. The good news is that, some of the latest and more modern models of printers on the market are highly capable of producing cards of such excellent quality that the guests will believe that they were purchased from a high end retailer.

Another good tip is that, you can always find good invitations by comparison shopping. This allows you to find the best deals. Although this is a bit time consuming, it is better to look through all varieties to settle on a great deal.

Finally, another great tip for finding cheap cards is by considering a limit on the amount of text on the real invitation than the sample card that you might select. Many printers charge per letter so limiting text will save your money. You can also save money by including only the most important text on the actual card and adding a typewritten sheet with additional information if needed.
