Father-of-the-bride speeches that come from the heart are more emotional than even the most poetic speeches. The web can only give you advice on how to formulate your speech. The most important thing to remember is to make sure that everything that you say is heartfelt and genuine.

It would also help if you inject the following factors in your speech.

Humor

Having a little laugh with the bride and groom will make the atmosphere lighter. Here is an example of a passage for father-of-the-bride speech, which has humor in it.

"I toast to my daughter and to her husband, whom she would spend the rest of her days with. I look forward to the day when I have more bills to pay because of the many grandchildren that would stay in my house..."

Love

It will be a good chance for you to show how much you love your daughter. You can add a few significant memories to your speech to show how much you care for her. Here is an example.

To My Dear Daughter,

I toast to you and your husband and wish both of you all the happiness in the world. I remember the day my daughter was born. (Look at daughter) She was the cutest thing. Now at her wedding day I'm glad to see that she has grown up into the most beautiful woman.

I love you darling

Congratulatory Speech

You can also give your daughter and her husband a congratulatory speech and give your well wishes for the lovely couple. This will show that you have accepted the groom into the family without any problems. Here is another excerpt.

"Congratulations to the happy couple. May you have many more years ahead of you just like my wife and I. Remember that we will always be here for you if ever you need anything. Never hesitate to give us a call or visit us whenever you want to."

The Question and Answer Session Before Wedding

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Marriage is a very important alliance, the decision of which is not only taken by the bride or the groom, but the verdict of the families of both the bride and groom also matters a lot. Both the bride and the groom, needs to pass a lot of tests, before each of their parents choose a perfect match for them. The parents from both the sides, test each others children on the basis of the criteria they have set in mind or the expectations, they have from their son- in- law or daughter- in- law. It becomes a very tough and sometimes embarrassing situation, for the girl or the boy, because in some cases it goes over the head in asking questions.

The parents should also try and think from the point of view of the children, that what they would like to be asked and which at times can make the bride or the groom nervous, about his being there. Especially, in case of the bride, the mother- in- laws act very curious and sometimes very interrogative about her interests, likes and dislikes. This question and answer session to a limit is fine, but going head over heals in peeping into details is really very uncomfortable for the girl at times. But the parents don't understand this, for them, getting clarifications over issues, is only what matters. There are many silly things, which parents tend to ask the bride, which should be avoided by the parents, some of those questions include topics like:

-The TV programmes or the serials watched by the bride
-What colour of clothes she likes to wear
-Is she interested in watching movies of a particular actor or actress
-The number of parties she has gone, etc

These are few of the questions, which certainly puts the bride in odd situations. And one more problem faced by the girls, before the marriage, is that, she gets to be pointed out, when she asks questions from the guy, by being tagged as the one, who is very clever, or called as dumb, even when she does not speak anything. So the best way for the girl is to counter- question for the same details as asked by the groom from the bride. Asking questions from each other is really important for both the would- be bride and groom, because the decision of marriage is really important and a life long decision, on which the future of two lives is dependent.

In case of arranged marriages, the bride and the groom get only few minutes to meet and match their compatibility, after which they have to make their judgement towards each other. It is the toughest of the decisions taken by them, because these few minutes hold the power to change the entire life of the bride and groom. The decision needs a lot of concentration, mind and heart to be put in, before making the final verdict. A proper research should be done, about the guy, before meeting him, so that he or she is able to clarify his doubts about the guy or girl. Also, the availability of social networking sites has made the process lot easier and knowing details about the perspective groom or bride is no more a tough task to do. So, the boy or the girl can be surer about the alliance he is going to make. Thus, one can say, that these decisions are to be taken very carefully and after full research and survey about the bride or the groom, to feel more contented and safe about the future.

Etiquette For Brides Before the Wedding

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Etiquette is a guide for behavior, not a law. Use bridal etiquette as guide, do not adhere the rules blindly, as each family and situation is unique and apply your common sense whenever required.

Etiquette to register
Registries are a great way to let people know what sort of things you would like as wedding gifts. But gifts are not mandatory for the guests to bring. Never demand or ask any guests to give you a specific thing.

The maid of honor (bridesmaid) usually throws the bridal shower, which also includes the bridal shower themes. She can be the bride's relative or friend. If there is more than one bridal shower, each shower would have a different hostess.

Bridesmaid's etiquette dictates that the maid of honor has some important duties to perform such as-

1. Hosting a bridal shower
2. Attending all prenuptial parties
3. Helping the bride in the weeks of planning before the ceremony
4. Helping the bride to pack her luggage
5. Giving the bride moral support
6. Assisting the bride wherever she needs
7. Witness and sign the marriage certificate after ceremony.

The bridal shower guest list
Bridal etiquette says all those invited to the shower should be on the wedding guest list. It is a poor etiquette to invite someone to the shower and exclude her from the big day itself. The guest list should include-

1. Mother of the bride and groom
2. Grandmothers or great grandmothers of either side
3. Cousins, aunts
4. Bridesmaids
5. Friends of the bride and their family
6. Female colleagues of the bride

Etiquette to send an invitation
Each person invited should be sent with a separate invitation and it should be done about a month before the party. The invitation card should include-

# Bride's name
# Date and time of the bridal shower
# Address/venue
# Phone number of the hostess
# Map or direction to the exact location

You must take proper care regarding the invitation wordings.

Etiquette to play games
Playing games help guests to interact with each other. In fact, bridal shower games are great ways to let your guests get to know each other and know more about the bride and groom. It is usual to give small gifts for the winners of the games played at the party.

Etiquette to write a thank you card

A thank you card should always be handwritten.
Thank your friends for the parties and the showers that they have arranged for you.
Thank your guests for the gifts that you have received.
Write your new address on the thank you cards.

This thank you notes should be sent within one week of the ceremony. This is the only way of telling someone who has given you a gift of how much you appreciate it.

Finally, bridal etiquette means being sure to include the wedding party and the mothers of both bride and groom in shower in some way. Ask each person to take some responsibility to make the occasion a memorable one.

Groom and Bride Need to Lose Weight Before the Wedding

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Typically the bride almost always wants to lose weight before her wedding day, whether she really needs to or not. Sometimes the groom and bride need to lose weight before the wedding although men don't seem to worry about it as much as women do.

The bride worries about back fat since her back is to the wedding guests yet grooms never have that concern. So it's time to begin the weight loss journey in order to look your best. For a couple to lose weight together is quite healthy in many ways. Not only are they improving their health with each 5 pounds of weight loss, it helps the couple to be even closer on a different level than before.

Losing weight together supports teamwork and prepares you for your future as a couple. When one person isn't following the weight loss plan, the other one can be supportive and also hold their partner accountable as well. When you are losing the weight as a couple, you are preparing your future for better eating habits and hopefully you are working out together too.

If you incorporate walking together as part of your dieting plan, that can turn into something you make a priority, forever. Communication is key to a healthy marriage and if you walk together daily, that's the perfect time to talk about your day, your problems, your happiness, or even just to get things off your chest. You are maintaining your weight and keeping the communication active in your marriage at the same time with regular walking dates.

Getting on the right track before the wedding is easier than down the road when you're older and more set in your ways.

If you begin doing sports together, or take up hiking and skiing for instance, you will have a fun and healthy way of life. When the groom and bride need to lose weight before the wedding, they can begin a healthier lifestyle before the wedding which sets the standard of living for their future.
